Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal says the country has moved forward with stability despite the economic challenges.
The Governor said that there has been an increase in the prices of goods all over the world today and the government has suffered a great loss in the country, at the current level or in maintaining prices.
He said that he had visited Jaffna last weekend and had not seen a single fuel queue or gas queue anywhere in the area and that it was not fair to take the situation in several places in Colombo as the situation in the country.
Meanwhile, the Governor states that the construction of highways will also provide relief to the people.
He added that the present government is working to fulfill the long standing promises made.
